2021 Ken Freeman Scholarship Recipient - Rachel Krutchen

After a blind review process of several extremely qualified applicants, Rachel Kruchten has been selected as the 2021 Ken Freeman Scholarship recipient.

Rachel is a graduate of Waunakee Community High School in Waunakee, Wisconsin. She began her post-high school education at Black Hawk College in the Spring of 2020 where she is a member of their Western IHSA Equestrian Team.

Rachel has been a longtime Illinois Quarter Horse Youth member and has represented the association in the NYATT competition and at the World Show. She has also been a constant helping hand with fundraisers and other Youth activities throughout the year. Outside of horses, Rachel is a member of the National Honor Society, the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and served as an Assistant Coach for the Waunakee Special Olympics for four years. Rachel’s goal is to earn a degree in nursing.
