My name is Ava Pope, and I am proud to serve as the president of the Illinois Quarter Horse Youth Association. I have been involved with Quarter Horses for 12 years, and my passion for horses continues to grow with every experience. I currently show Scarlett Jo Hanson in the horsemanship and showmanship, and LTF Jets Last Dance in the barrel racing.
Being a part of ILQHYA has taught me valuable life skills such as responsibility, dedication, time management, and sportsmanship. Through showing and caring for my horse, I have learned the importance of hard work, patience, and teamwork.
ILQHYA has also given me the opportunity to meet incredible people, build lasting friendships.
Outside of showing, I enjoy hanging out with my friends and participating in school clubs.
I am thankful for the support of my family, trainers, and fellow youth members, and I am excited to continue growing as a rider and competitor through the Illinois Quarter Horse Youth Association.
I look forward to serving with our youth board of directors.
