A LIFETIME OF SERVICE - Mary Hannagan

 Mary Hannagan has a lifetime of volunteer service in the Illinois Quarter Horse Association. Serving on the board of directors for over 20 years, Mary has dedicated her life to the American Quarter Horse. She has served as AQHA National Director, Vice President of ILQHA, Hall of Fame Chair, Convention Chair and past ILQHA Queen. Service describes this passionate woman as she has served on the national level of AQHA committees of Show, Marketing, Nominations & Credentials, Affiliate Advisory Board, and Hall of Fame Selection Committee and the Horsemen’s Council of Illinois Board. During the development of the USEF Reining, Mary served on the Technical Committee for USET/Reining and managed the first qualifying show as part of the World Games in Gladstone, New Jersey Mary and the Hannagan Family were honored with the induction to the NSBA Hall of Fame in 2016.She holds lifetime memberships in NSBA, AQHA, NRHA, NCHA, APHA and ILQHA. Mary grew up with American Quarter Horse family parents Gordon and Jan Hannagan and was active showing with her sisters in Illinois and nationally. Along with an active show career, Mary excelled in the breeding program standing many outstanding stallions such as Tardy Too, Positively, Oh Cay Quixote, and Smart Like Juice. Mary continues to enjoy her passion by breeding and showing Cutting horses and has earned NCHA lifetime earnings of $97,000. Mary enjoys actively contributing as part owner of Gordyville USA a family-owned event, equine, & auction center producing major Quarter Horse shows, draft horse sales, tractor pulls, flea markets, farm shows, online auctions, and many other breeds Horse shows.
