I started loving horses in the same way as most of us who share this hobby with an internal passion that began at birth. I got my first pony when I was three, and my life having horses had begun!
Growing up I trail rode, but after I was married I got the urge to compete. There was never any other breed association I was interested in. I loved American Quarter Horses.
I hit the ground running with a mare named "Wooden Princess" in 1986. Though I had never shown, I hauled her to our first show, went in the Novice Pleasure and WON! I was hooked.
I had always had an interest in breeding horses. I took a chance on a shiny black Top Moon mare and crossed her with an up and coming stallion that I couldn't keep my eyes off of...Investment Asset.
Our first baby landed in the hands of Tanya Relander and then went on to Carrie Chown from Texas. Carrie navigated "Regal Asset" to a 3 yr old Non-pro Reserve championship at the Congress. The rest is history, my breeding program took off!
I have been blessed to have raised "Krymsun Rider", and watch him win every title possible in Germany. "Krymsun Kadence", fell in the right hands with Jennifer Stein and won Reserve 2 yr old HUS at the Congress. "EleganceInKrymsun" with Mary Beth Beenenga is still making us proud with Novice Championship wins, NSBA, and Select World placings. Last but not least my last baby, VSFirstInLine, "Wyatt" I kept back to get back in the show pen myself. Wyatt pointed out of the Level 1 pleasure in one show season.
The future? I am looking forward to my latest adventure with a baby I purchased from Sue Janssen. I went to visit Sue when "Saul" was 12 hours old. The trouble began then and I knew this Code Blue baby needed to live in MY barn! Saul, is two, and currently in training with Drew DeBuhr.
So, the past has been fantastic! The future looks bright. I am so very blessed with all the wonderful horses that I have had the chance to own. The most important of all has to be the friendships made, and lunches shared with a "gang" of girls who share my same passion.
